Plan objective

The objective of the R&D plan is to provide the EPA with a platform for organising future R&D activities in line with the Queensland Government's R&D Priorities. In particular, it helps meet Queensland, national and EPA's R&D objectives and goals, and provides guidance for:

• Coordination and integration;
• Focusing on outcomes;
• Project selection;
• Investment decisions;
• Ongoing program management; and
• Performance measurement and reporting.

This R&D plan together with similar plans prepared by other agencies performing environmental R&D will assist the EPA in more comprehensively understanding whole-of-Government environmental R&D and tailoring the EPA's R&D to eliminate overlaps and gaps. This approach seeks to maximise funding efficiencies across government agencies.
