R&D priorities and outcomes

The following is a list of the EPA’s R&D priorities under which specific project activities can be grouped. The R&D priorities mirror those for the EPA’s overall science program. R&D projects may not be active in all priority areas at all times. The EPA will continue scanning for targeted R&D needs and priorities within the EPA’s broad science and policy agenda as contingencies arise.

The bottom-line outcome sought by the EPA through its R&D endeavours is ecologically sustainable development as an integral part of Queensland’s economy and lifestyle though enhanced knowledge, informed decision and policymaking and community leadership.

The EPA’s primary goals under its Corporate Plan 2006-09 are:
