On 26 March 2009, the former Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and former Department of Natural Resources and Water (NRW) were amalgamated to form the Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM).

Organisational structure

Following the amalgamation of the former EPA and NRW to form the Department of Environment and Resource management, a new organisational structure has been developed.

Executive Management Group 

Following the amalgamation of the former EPA and NRW to form the Department of Environment and Resource Management, a new Executive Management Group has been formed.

WetlandInfo

Description

The Department of Environment and Resource Management, in partnership with the Australian Government (via the Queensland Wetlands Programme), developed WetlandInfo Queensland for the provision of Queensland wetland information. In 2003, the Australian and Queensland governments established the Queensland Wetlands Programme. The Programme is designed to develop and implement measures for the long-term conservation and management of wetlands in Queensland, with a focus on the Great Barrier Reef catchment consistent with actions outlined in the Reef Water Quality Protection Plan. The Programme is being implemented over five years and is funded through the Great Barrier Reef Coastal Wetlands Protection Programme and the Queensland Natural Heritage Trust Wetlands Programme.

Clean and Healthy Air for Gladstone

Description

The Clean and Healthy Air for Gladstone Project is a Queensland Government initiative, established to gain a better understanding of air pollution in the Gladstone area, and to identify any potentially associated risks to public health.
