Australian Protected Areas Congress 2008 - APAC08
The inaugural Australian Protected Areas Congress 2008 (APAC08) has the potential to shape the future management and direction of protected areas across the continent.
The congress theme is Protected areas in the century of change. It focuses on the values, benefits and increasing importance to humankind of protected areas.
Papers and symposia are now being invited for this important event in the development of Australia’s protected areas. Deadline for abstracts is 31 May 2008.
Early bird registrations are also open.
It is particularly significant that the first Australian Protected Areas Congress should be held in this, the Queensland Centenary of Parks.
The congress brings together leaders and experts in protected area management and research from across Australia and the broader region. It is a unique opportunity for governments, research institutions , NGOs and others to share the most advanced knowledge and thinking on terrestrial, freshwater and marine protected areas.
APAC08 is organised by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and will be held at Novotel Twin Waters Resort, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Monday–Friday, 24–28 November.
