Make a difference. Help keep Queensland's heritage alive.
Queensland's projected population growth will put severe strain on existing infrastructure resulting in a built environment boom over the next 20 years. Places such as sawmills, factories, abbeys, houses, bathing pavilions, public parks, bridges or tourist attractions sometimes go by seemingly unnoticed and the development predicted to occur during this period means that it has never been more important that we look after our heritage.
The Queensland Government's State-wide Survey of Heritage Places, conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency, will roll out across the state identifying many new heritage sites which will be added to the Queensland Heritage Register for their protection. The survey, to be completed by 2009, is asking for the community's help to let us know about heritage places which contribute to the story of Queensland.
