Cultural heritage

Heritage places

Cultural heritage is much more than a collection of spectacular old buildings.

The rich maritime history of Queensland’s spectacular coastline, the vital role played by railways and roads in the state’s development, and the economic importance of industries such as mining and forestry are just some of the facets of Queensland’s cultural heritage. Schools, trees, cemeteries, special events, some oddities and of course spectacular old buildings are all part of our heritage.
