Experience: David Eades has been a Director PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory practice since November 2007. He was previously National Director of Knight Frank Australia since 1997 and has held senior roles in both private and public sector organisations.
Mr Eades has played a major role in the reform of government property business in Australia. He is a past president of the Australian Property Institute and is a Life Fellow of that organisation. Mr Eades was a member of the Queensland Heritage Council from December 1998 until 2002. During that time he was the chair of the Council's Heritage Register Advisory Committee. He sat on the Ministerial Advisory Committee reviewing the functions of the QHC in 2006.
Mr Eades has broad experience in valuation, asset management, and acquisition and capital programs and is a regular presenter at education and industry forums nationally and internationally. He is also a board member of Queensland Multicap, an organisation caring for those with multiple disabilities.
Margaret Strelow, Deputy Chair

Qualifications: Master of Education, Bachelor of Arts, Graduate Diploma of Applied Local History.
Experience: Margaret Strelow was elected a Rockhampton City Councillor in 1997 and was Mayor of Rockhampton from 2000-2008.
Ms Strelow has a strong demonstrated commitment to heritage through both academic study and community groups. As an active member of a community group she was one of the first people to nominate a place (South Rockhampton Cemetery) to the heritage register when the legislation was introduced in 1992.
She is currently undertaking a Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning. Cr Strelow believes that local government has a very important role in preserving heritage, and the insight she has given the Heritage Council stemming from eight years as Mayor of Rockhampton has been invaluable.

Andrew Barnes

Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)
Experience: Mr Barnes has had 20 years of working with heritage buildings from an engineering perspective, and was involved with the heritage assessments for Brisbane's North-South Bypass Tunnel. He has also consulted on projects relating to heritage-listed places such as the Breakfast Creek Hotel, Brisbane RNA Showgrounds and the Pyrmont Bridge in Sydney.
Mr Barnes is chairman of the Queensland division of the Heritage Committee of Engineers Australia.Membership of professional associations, clubs and community organisations: Queensland Heritage Committee of Engineers Australia, Engineers Australia Heritage Board, National Trust of Australia, Registered professional engineer Queensland.
Chris Buckley
Representation/Specific skills: Town planning

Experience: Chris Buckley is a respected planning consultant who established a town planning consultancy in 1992 after obtaining wide experience in Cairns and south-east Queensland. He has been chair of a variety of high-level planning committees, including the SEQ Regional Coastal Management Plan and the City West Task Force. He is also an adjunct professor in town planning at QUT.
Mr Buckley has a high level of experience in planning and the Integrated Planning Act 1992. He has participated in various high-level planning studies and investigations, such as the town planning schemes and development control plans for the Maroochy Shire Council (2003-04), an IPA Scoping Study for Hervey Bay City Council (2001) and the West End/Woolloongabba Housing Action Plan for the Brisbane City Council (2000).

Christine Campbell, Chair of Rural Heritage Places Committee

Experience: Christine Campbell is a partner in a cattle and goat grazing property in Central Western Queensland with the emphasis on running the property in an environmentally sustainable manner.
Experience relevant to this appointment: Ms Campbell is the president of the Blackall Historical Society. She has been involved in the preservation and restoration of sites in Blackall, primarily the Blackall Historical Woolscour. She has been involved in developing heritage interpretation sites in the main street of Blackall in a joint project with the Blackall Shire Council.
Ms Campbell joined the Queensland Heritage Council in January 2002 and she is the chairperson of its Rural Heritage Places Sub-Committee. In this role she has developed a successful pilot restoration/conservation project for rural homesteads. She was nominated to the Heritage Register Advisory Committee in 2006.
Membership of professional associations, clubs, and community organisations: Ms Campbell is a life member of the Blackall Historical Woolscour Association (ordinary member since 1989) and she is a member of the National Trust of Queensland (since 1980).
Gordon Grimwade

Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts, Master of Letters, Chartered Geographer
Experience: Gordon Grimwade is a heritage consultant with over twenty years experience in tropical and remote area site management issues. His key interests are in site management in tropical environments and the presentation of archaeological sites to the public.
Gordon's leadership in wide ranging experience has extended from military fortifications in the Torres Strait and industrial sites in urban centres to isolated copper smelters in northwest Queensland. He is internationally recognised for his work on Australasian Chinese sites.
Gordon believes that it is important that heritage places should be preserved and presented to the public and, for those sites at risk from development, thoroughly documented before any modifications are permitted.

Jane Lennon

Qualifications: PhD in Cultural Landscapes, Master of Arts in Historical Geography, Bachelor of Arts.
Experience: Dr Lennon is a Queensland-based member of the Australian Heritage Council. She is a founding member of Australia's International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and has been involved in the development of heritage conservation as a profession since 1976.
Dr Lennon has undertaken research for the Environmental Protection Agency and the Queensland Heritage Council, including studies into historic mining places, rural homesteads, and State of the Environment reports. Dr Lennon was also a member of the Cultural Heritage Ministerial Advisory Committee established to advise the former Minister for Environment, Local Government, Heritage and Women during Queensland's recent heritage review. She was the chair of Newstead House board of trustees (1995-2001) and a member of the board of the Queensland Museum (1999-2002).Membership of professional bodies, clubs and community organizations: Australian Heritage Council, Australia ICOMOS, Old Parliament House governing council, Professional Historians Association, Australian Forest History Society.
Rodney Litster

Experience: Having worked as a law clerk (from 1983), and as a solicitor (from 1987), Mr Litster commenced practice as a barrister in 1990.
Mr Litster specializes in Queensland Planning and Environment Court litigation including appeals from that Court. He has extensive experience representing developers, local governments and submitters.
Mr Litster has a long held interest, and professional involvement, in legal issues that confront heritage listing and conservation at Commonwealth, State and Local levels.

Peter Marquis-Kyle

Experience: Mr Marquis-Kyle has wide experience as a conservation architect. He has worked as a consultant and director on projects for private, government and community clients, including a recent nationwide survey of heritage-listed lighthouses. He is co-author of the award-winning book "The Illustrated Burra Charter: good practice for heritage places".
Mr Marquis-Kyle is an external member of a moderation panel which is currently reviewing the results of the Environmental Protection Agency's state-wide survey of heritage places. Cr Donna Neilson
Representation/Specific skills: Local Government, Law

Current Occupation: Councillor, Cooloola Shire Council
Qualifications: Solicitor
Experience: Cr Neilson was elected as councillor to the Cooloola Shire Council in 1993 and is also a member of the Shire Council's Heritage Advisory Committee. As chairman of its Planning and Development Committee, Cr Neilson is also responsible for overseeing the implementation of Cooloola Shire's heritage strategy. Gympie has a variety of historically significant buildings and Cooloola Council has commissioned its own local heritage study and a commercial and residential character study.
In her role with the Wide Bay Burnett Area Consultative Committee, both as deputy chair, and chair of the Regional Partnership Assessment Panel, Cr Neilson has provided input into applications for funding the conservation of community buildings.

Ruth Woods, Chair of QHC Development Committee

Current Occupation: Architect running her own architectural practice specializing in heritage work.
Educational/Professional Qualifications: B Design Studies, B Architecture
Experience: Ruth Woods has been involved in numerous large-scale projects including the adaptive re-use of the Ipswich Campus for the University of Queensland, for which she was the project architect for the first stage. The project won a commendation from the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) and a local heritage award from the Ipswich City Council.
While working for QUT from 2001 to 2004, as Associate Director for Major Projects, she directed the consultants for the development of the state-listed former Gona Barracks site into the Kelvin Grove Urban Village and Creative Industries Precinct.
Ms Woods is the owner of a State heritage-listed property - "The Stables" - which she has adaptively re-used as her own family residence. This work won her a John Herbert Gold Award at the National Trust's Qld Heritage Awards in 2001 and a commendation from the RAIA. Ruth has been a practising architect for over 25 years and was made a Fellow of the RAIA in 2001. She was a juror for the RAIA State heritage awards in 2006.
Ms Woods has been a member of the Queensland Heritage Council since 2002, a member of the Heritage Register Advisory Committee in 2004, a member of the Council's Development Committee in 2002 and 2003 and again in 2005 and 2006. She is currently Chair of the Queensland Heritage Council's Development Committee.
