Search EMR / CLR
General information
[Environmental Management Register/Contaminated Land Register (EMR/CLR)]
To do a search, you will need to provide the following details:
- the Lot and Registered Plan numbers of the land (available from the Title Deed or rates notice);
- the property location and address; and
- search fee of $44.30 per lot. (Make cheques payable to Smart Service Queensland, PO Box 10817, Brisbane Adelaide Street, Queensland 4001 – Enquires 131304)
You can lodge searches in person at the EPA Customer Service Centre, Ground Floor, 160 Ann Street, Brisbane. The result is available for collection within five (5) working days. Alternatively, you can mail a search request to the EPA and the result will be mailed back within ten (10) working days.
For an immediate response you can search on-line via CITEC CONFIRM, payable by credit card.

Guidelines and policies
The EPA requires the owner of the land recorded on the Registers to inform any occupier, such as persons who are renting, managing, or leasing the land, if the property is:
- listed on the CLR;
- listed on the EMR and subject to conditions of any site management plan; or
- the subject of a notice under Chapter 7, Part 8 of the EP Act.
Anyone selling or otherwise disposing of land listed on either Register is also required to give written notice of the land’s listing to any potential purchaser.
