Community role

The Environmental Protection Agency and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service are involving the community in helping to protect and manage our environment.

Nature refuges are voluntary conservation agreements between landholders and QPWS to protect areas of significant conservation value.

Volunteers across the state assist on a variety of projects which are retaining, restoring and improving our environment.

Coastcare is a community-based program that encourages residents, volunteers, businesses and interest groups to care for their coastal areas.

Visitors to the CyberRangers website will be able to meet and chat with park rangers, write a story, participate in interactive activities and provide reports and artwork to the Cyber Ranger
