Enjoy a ranger guided walk up the Constance Range, or join staff on a sunrise birdwatching tour. Take a canoe tour through the gorge, and enjoy a talk by palaeontologists at the Riversleigh D Site. Sit back that evening and enjoy a yarn around the communal campfire. These ranger guided activities are for one day only - don’t miss out!

Saturday’s official welcome (11am) will be followed by a sausage sizzle lunch and afternoon of guest speakers, walks, displays and kids’ activities. Spend the evening spotlighting for nocturnal desert wildlife with the chance of seeing Kowaris, Dunnarts and Hopping Mice, followed by a slideshow at the park homestead with a BBQ. On Sunday join staff in a tag-along tour of the bilby burrow complex and learn about managing and monitoring out native wildlife and the EPA Pest Arrest program. Rediscover the Townsville Town Common Conservation Park, by getting up-close and personal with some of the locals. There will be a sunrise bird walk and rangers will guide walks up Mount Marlow. Children will enjoy the “Go bush with the birds” activities. A BBQ sausage sizzle completes the celebrations.
