Camping in Lawn Hill Gorge, Boodjamulla (Lawn Hill) National Park
There is one campground in the Lawn Hill Gorge section of Boodjamulla (Lawn Hill) National Park. Camp beside your car in well-defined sites. The Riversleigh Section of this park has bush camping.
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite.
Park-specific conditions
- Bookings are essential and should be made well in advance if you plan to camp between May and September.
- Limited rubbish facilities are provided in the park. Please place recyclables in the recycling containers next to the toilet block, and take the rest of your rubbish with you.

Boodjamulla (Lawn Hill) campground
Campground features: Partially shady campground adjacent to Lawn Hill Creek.
Location: 4km from the park entrance.
Access: The campground can be reached by conventional vehicle during May to September although 4WD is recommended.
Number of sites: 20 sites (separate but not numbered).
Campsites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car. There is a limit of one vehicle per campsite and the campground is not suitable for caravans, buses, motorhomes or camper trailers over 4m.
Campsite surface: Dirt.
Facilities: Tank water, flushing toilets, cold showers, and recycling bins.
Open fires: Prohibited — fuel or gas stoves only.
Generators: Not permitted.

Bookings: Bookings are essential and should be made well in advance for the period Easter to October. Book online or by phone on 13 13 04. You can also book though the QPWS Reef and National Parks Information Centre, Townsville, weekdays 10am–4pm. For the rest of the year you can self-register on arrival, subject to wet season closures.
