Maps and Data

Effective planning and management of wetlands should be based on good information and data.

Data accessible from this website is provided from a variety of projects run by a wide range of stakeholders including: the Queensland and Australian governments; regional natural resource management bodies; research institutes; and local government.

Legislation and Planning Maps

Maps including maps of wetlands are often called up in legislative and statutory planning processes. For instance specific policies under the Regional Coastal Management Plans relate to coastal wetlands and significant coastal wetlands. These wetlands are identified in maps produced as part of the plan. A map of referable wetlands acts as a trigger under Schedule 2 of the Integrated Planning Regulation 1998 (Qld) (IP Reg) that makes the EPA an advice agency for specific assessable development. Maps relating to legislation and statutory planning can be accessed through the Programs, Policy and Legislation section of WetlandInfo or by following the link above.
