New products

Quick links

The new What do you want to do? function was developed in response to user feedback. It is designed to determine what wetland management information or resources you need and take you directly to the source.

Mapping

The Queensland Wetlands Program Wetlands Mapping and mapping products (pdf maps, Wetland Summary Infomation , WetlandMaps) have been updated from 2001 to 2005.

The data is now also provided in a kml format via Google Earth.

Arid and semi-arid conceptual models

The Queensland Wetlands Program and the Murray Darling Basin Authority have produced eight new arid and semi-arid lacustrine and palustrine conceptual models.

Using soil as an indicator of wetland boundaries

The Queensland Wetlands Program report on the use of soil as an indicator of wetland boundaries- Soil Indicators of Queensland wetlands: Statewide assessment and methodology- is now available. This is supplemented by a field guide and 39 information sheets.

Great Barrier Reef case studies

The Australian Government, through the Queensland Wetlands Program, funded the on-ground works at 22 sites in the Great Barrier Reef catchment. The case studies are now available.

Queensland Wetland Program evaluation

The Queensland Wetlands Program underwent an evaluation in 2008 to determine its effectiveness in achieving its overall aim and project objectives. The evaluation reflects on lessons learnt, identifies improvements and provides recommendations on the way forward for collaborative wetland management. The final report is now available.

Education and Communication

We’ve renamed our Spreading the Word section to better reflect the increasing range of education and communication materials available to wetland managers.

Our WetlandInfo feature frog is a Cyclorana verrucosa, commonly known as Rough Collared Frog or a Rough Frog.

Click here to hear it's call on
Windows Media or Quicktime audio.

The recording of its call is by David Stewart of Nature Sound. Photo by Harry Hines (DERM). The front page artwork is by Tamsin Ainslie.

WetlandInfo will update this section regularly, so keep your eyes and ears open!
